NFPA 1403 – How to Conduct Live Burns
This course is designed to provide students with the information contained in the 2012 ed. NFPA 1403 Standard on Live Fire Training Evolutions. Students will review general knowledge required to conduct a live fire training evolution in acquired structures, fixed facilities (gas and non‐gas), and in non‐fixed facilities. Additionally, this course will cover requirements for firefighters to participate in burns, how to complete the required Kentucky Fire Commission forms prior to burns, and identifying materials to be removed from acquired structures (off‐site).
A member from the Environmental Protection Agency will be on site to discuss acquired structure burn
requirements and safety concerns.
*This course does not meet requirements for SFRT instructors 1403 / Flashover TtT courses.
